The relationship between spending time on homework and scoring well on a test is not linear, but curved. Which, paradoxically, means the most stress of students are in fact engaging in behavior that is counterproductive to doing well statistics school.

From kindergarten to the final years of high school, recent research suggests that some students are getting excessive amounts of homework. For kids in first grade, that means 10 minutes a night, while high school seniors could get two hours of work per night.
Children have, for the last few decades, gone under the hammer, as far as studies are concerned. All subjects have undergone drastic changes and elicit more and more labor from students.
I teach both primary and secondary, and regularly find myself drawn into the argument on the reasoning behind it — parents, and sometimes colleagues, question its validity. Parent-teacher interviews can become consumed by how much trouble students have completing assignments.
